El consumo mundial de petrleo disminuy en 420.000 barriles por da en el ao 2008, lo que supone el mayor declive desde 1982, segn los datos que dio a conocer ayer la petrolera BP en su ltima revisin estadstica anual de energa mundial. La cada de la demanda de pases desarrollados coincidi con precios rcord, que llegaron a 150 dlares por barril en julio. El informe de BP recoge tambin que las reservas de petrleo en el mundo alcanzaron en 2008 los 1,25 billones de barriles, lo que representa un descenso del 0,23% respecto al ao anterior. La compaa petrolera destac en su informe que las reservas de petrleo son suficientes para cubrir la demanda mundial de petrleo en las prximas dcadas.
